Moore and Noyce, the first two workers of Intel, came from Fairchild Semiconductor. Rock was the executive chairman and an investor rather than a worker. $10,000 from Rock and $2.5 million in convertible debentures made up the initial investment in Intel. The first public offering (IPO) of Intel was completed just two years later, raising $6.8 million ($23.50 per share). Chemical engineer Andy Grove joined Intel as its third employee.
